The Singapore Global Network (SGN) is a division in the Economic Development Board tasked to re-energise Singapore’s efforts in building a strong and extensive ecosystem of overseas Family, Friends, Fans (3F) for Singapore. About the Strategy and User Research Team and the Role
The Strategy and User Research (“SUD”) team is tasked with developing corporate strategy, corporate planning, organisational development, administrative support, user research and customer insights in SGN.
SUD partners senior stakeholders in Singapore Government to develop and implement strategies for SGN, builds in-depth understanding and insights of SGN’s customers, and supports the growth and development of SGN as an organisation.
SUD is looking to hire a Lead / Senior Lead, Strategy and User Research to develop corporate strategy and lead user research projects.
Responsibilities In this role, you will:
Support senior management in formulating our narrative and strategies, including ensuring alignment with overall whole-of-government (WOG) strategic policies and directions
Track corporate KPIs and performance
Identify future trends and emerging issues that impact our strategies and, where necessary, make recommendations on alternative courses of action to senior management
Engage with internal teams through dialogue and joint projects. This involves having an appreciation of SGN’s overall priorities in order to build and maintain collaborative relationships across teams
Plan and coordinate user research and design projects by clarifying and crafting SGN’s problem and intent statements
Conduct user research and create user personas using a design thinking approach
Communicate strategic plans to internal stakeholders and work closely with external WOG stakeholders to implement strategies
Organise biannual corporate workplan exercises
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a strategy, corporate planning, policy or research role
Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills – able to structure analysis for complex issues, using qualitative and quantitative data, to make sense of new subject matter to distil insights and actionable solutions
Experience in quantitative analysis, economics, geographical/industry research, strategic planning or related areas will be an advantage
Strong relationship builder and influencing skills at all levels of seniority
Ability to succeed in a matrixed environment, manage multiple workstreams and influence adoption of new thinking
Knowledge of – and interest in – design thinking and using human-centric design to solve problems will be advantageous
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good team player and an independent thinker
