About the CX Team And The Role

The Customer Experience (“CX”) team is part of the Customer Experience & Marketing and Investment Facilitation division of EDB and is tasked with providing research and UI/UX design support for the organization. Their vision is to craft meaningful & compelling human experiences, which shape Singapore, its economy and EDB.

The CX team is looking to hire a Senior Product Designer (“the officer”) to lead a team in building EDB’s digital product offerings. This officer should have good interpersonal skills, strong stakeholder management skills, clarity in communication, a sharp analytical mind, and astute design judgements.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

Product research
• Lead research efforts to identify new opportunities, such as development of research briefs, moderator guide
• Lead recruitment efforts to recruit and manage both internal and external participants
• Conduct research interviews and manage research timelines
• Facilitate research synthesis sessions, using various design frameworks
• Translate research data into insights and findings that inform broader product decisions and communicate these insights and findings with stakeholders
• Identify measures to indicate user experience success and propose ways to track these measures

UI/UX Design
• Identify product opportunities from user research and business problems
• Plan and facilitate workshops with both internal and external stakeholders
• Conceptualize and visualize wireframes and prototypes for testing of new service or product concepts
• Provide design inputs during the implementation of new services or products
• Work to improve EDB design systems

Cross-functional Collaboration
• Define product visions in collaboration with product, engineer and business leads
• Work with Product Managers/ Software Developers to discuss design specifications, constraints and trade-offs

Design Leadership & Team Management
• Inspire, push creativity and establish new industry best practices within the CX team and scale the design practice in EDB
• Guide and mentor junior designers working across different product suites
• Manage performance, workload and career development of the team

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have:
• Relevant qualifications in Design / Industrial Design / Psychology / Communications / Human Computer Interaction
• At least 6 years in relevant Product Designer or UI/UX Design roles in a consultancy or similar industries
• Experience leading a team of designers
• Ability to effectively manage stakeholders’ expectations, and navigate ambiguity early on in the product development cycle
• Have an understanding of Agile, lean and user-centered design methods, experience working in such team structures is a plus
• Strong facilitation skills. Visual facilitation would be a plus.
• High sense of responsibility and ownership in problem-solving
• Good command of product design tools.
• Native proficiency in English and 1 other language a plus
