About Supply Chain & Connectivity

Supply Chain & Connectivity ("SCC") is responsible for developing and executing national strategies to enhance Singapore's position as a key node in industries' supply chains, as well as strengthen Singapore's connectivity for business and trade. The team engages in a range of activities from company engagements, industry studies, research and statistical analysis to the development of programmes and initiatives. SCC works with a wide range of stakeholders from both the public and private sector to develop and implement these strategies. 

You will report to the Head of Supply Chain & Connectivity.

 

Responsibilities

 

In this role, you will:

  • Sense: Through a combination of interviews, meetings, desktop research and/or commissioned studies, you will conduct in-depth analysis of global trends, including those pertaining to technology, business models, regulations and skills to derive relevant insights and implications for Singapore’s position as key node in the supply chains of various industries.
  • Develop: You will work closely with other teams in EDB (e.g. Accounts, International Operations, Resource Development) and relevant external partners in government and industry to design and develop value propositions and programmes to encourage economic activities to be conducted in Singapore.
  • Execute: You will also work closely with both internal stakeholders as well as industry and government agency partners to implement strategies. These include policy changes, training and other types of programmes.
    While you will be responsible for leading key workstreams in SCC, you will also have opportunities to exercise peer leadership in inter-divisional and inter-agency working groups.

 

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking – able to structure analysis for complex / ambiguous issues and make sense of new subject matter to distill insights and actionable solutions
  • Keen business acumen – able to identify opportunities for Singapore at an industry level
  • Excellent project management skills – able to lead cross-functional project teams, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver outcomes effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – able to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Adaptable – able to identify and respond quickly to changes in the business environment and changes in priorities
  • Good team player and an independent thinker
  • An understanding of the business of supply chain, logistics, and/or key manufacturing sectors that Singapore promotes and develops will be an advantage.
