About SGN

The Singapore Global Network (SGN) is a division in the Economic Development Board tasked to re-energise Singapore’s efforts in building a strong and extensive ecosystem of overseas Family, Friends, Fans (3F) for Singapore. SGN leads the Whole-Of-Government (WOG) effort to coordinate across agencies and strengthen our collective networks whose skills, affinity, and influence help build linkages to global business and talent communities; and enhance the international mindshare of Singapore as a leading globally connected city.



About the Role

The Strategy and Corporate Planning Lead is an individual contributor in the Strategy and User Design team. Its functions are corporate strategy, corporate planning, organisational development, user research and customer insights in SGN.


As a Strategy and Corporate Planning Lead, you will work with senior stakeholders in Singapore Government to develop and implement strategies for SGN, build in-depth understanding and insights of SGN’s customers and support the growth and development of SGN as an organisation. Your work will support the development and implementation of SGN’s corporate strategy across units in SGN.



  • Support senior management in formulating our narrative and strategies, including ensuring alignment with other government agencies’ strategic policies and directions
  • Track SGN’s corporate KPIs and performance against corporate strategies
  • Identify future trends and emerging issues that impact our strategies and, where necessary, make recommendations on alternative courses of action to senior management
  • Engage with internal teams through dialogue and joint projects. This involves having an appreciation of SGN’s overall priorities in order to build and maintain collaborative relationships across teams
  • Communicate strategic plans to internal stakeholders and work closely with external WOG stakeholders to implement strategies
  • Organise biannual corporate workplan exercises


  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a strategy, corporate planning or policy role
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills – able to structure analysis for complex issues, using qualitative and quantitative data, to make sense of new subject matter to distil insights and actionable solutions
  • Experience in quantitative analysis, economics, geographical/industry research, strategic planning or related areas will be an advantage         
  • Strong relationship builder and influencing skills at all levels of seniority
  • Ability to succeed in a matrixed environment, manage multiple workstreams and influence adoption of new thinking
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good team player and an independent thinker
